Ticktin Rodriquez PA win trial in Sanford

Peter Ticktin and Jamie Sasson of Ticktin Rodriguez, P.A. (legalbrains.com) returned on Friday from a trial in Sanford, Florida.

The case was based on the following facts: In 2005, a nanny (who worked for a very successful realtor in Sanford, FL) and her husband (a hard-working laborer) were manipulated and tricked into transferring their house into the realtor’s name so that he could obtain a better mortgage at a lower rate, and hold the property for them. In fact, they never knew that there was to be a closing until the evening before it was scheduled when they were told that they had to do go through with it or that the marshals would come to take their house and put them and their children on the street on Monday unless they let the realtor save their home. Shortly after the closing, the realtor wanted the couple to sign a lease, and this was when they realized that they had been duped.

Ticktin Rodriguez acting for the Nanny and her husband brought suit for fraud, constructive fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and civil theft.

On this last Thursday evening, after a 4-day trial, a jury returned a verdict. The nanny and her husband won on all counts for the full value that was sought in the lawsuit.
